“Doing All Good Things”: Why I Chose to Become a Financial Advisor
When people ask me why I became a financial advisor, the answer is simple:
I’m in this business to serve.
I believe that financial planning is about far more than charts, spreadsheets, or portfolio balances. It’s about people—their values, their stories, and their purpose. It’s about helping individuals and families navigate life’s complexities with confidence and clarity. And yes, it’s about achieving goals, but also living a life of meaning along the way.
At Allgood Financial, our guiding phrase is “Age Omne Bonum”—Latin for “Do All Good Things.” That motto reflects both our mission and my personal conviction. It’s a play on my name, sure—but more than that, it captures how I believe this work should be done: with excellence, integrity, and service.
A Calling to Serve
I’ve been in financial services for over 25 years, including time spent working at large brokerage firms, banks, and national planning organizations. But it wasn’t until I launched Allgood Financial—my own independent practice—that I felt fully aligned with what I believe this profession is really about: serving others, not selling products.
I’m proud to be both a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and a Certified Kingdom Advisor® (CKA®). The CFP® designation demonstrates a commitment to technical excellence, fiduciary responsibility, and client-first planning. The CKA®, meanwhile, reflects my deep belief that biblical wisdom and financial stewardship go hand in hand. My faith shapes how I lead, advise, and care for clients—and it reminds me that money is a tool, not the goal.
Faith + Finance = Purposeful Planning
Faith isn’t something I keep separate from my work. In fact, I believe it strengthens it. Many of my clients are also people of faith, and they appreciate that we can speak openly about what matters most—not just how to build wealth, but why.
I help clients explore the bigger picture:
What legacy do you want to leave?
How can your resources reflect your values?
What does financial contentment look like—not just success?
From investment management and retirement planning to college funding, contingency planning, and tax strategies, I focus on delivering personalized advice rooted in your unique story, not just your spreadsheets. Because financial planning, done well, supports not just your goals—but your mission.
Independent, But Not Alone
As an independent advisor, I’m not beholden to sales quotas or proprietary products. Instead, I’m backed by LPL Financial, the largest independent broker-dealer in the country (As reported by Financial Planning magazine, 1996-2024, based on total revenue) , and Good Life Advisors, a multi-state RIA. That structure allows me to provide truly fiduciary advice, always acting in your best interest.

And I’m not afraid to think creatively when it comes to your plan. I often help clients explore non-traditional strategies, simplify complex challenges, and access my network of CPAs, attorneys, and elder care specialists when needed.
Planning with Purpose—and Flexibility
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that life doesn’t always go as planned. That’s why I believe in planning that’s both intentional and adaptable. Whether it’s preparing for the cost of college (something I know firsthand as a dad of four), caring for aging parents, or navigating a business transition, we plan together—and pivot when needed.
I’m here to help you get organized, stay informed, and move forward—no matter what life throws your way.
All Good Things Begin With a Conversation
Returning to Nashville, where I graduated from Vanderbilt University and have deep family roots, has felt like a homecoming in more ways than one. It’s a joy to help people in Music City and beyond create financial plans that reflect not only their aspirations—but also their beliefs.
If you’re looking for a partner who sees your finances through the lens of service, stewardship, and purpose, I’d love to meet you. At Allgood Financial, we’re here to help you do “all good things” with what you’ve been given—so you can live a life that truly matters.
